Bus and Tram Day Out

Wednesday 12th July 2023

The School holidays are here again. Several times each year we combine with our friends at the Sydney Tramway Museum and hold a combined day out with a visit to both museums.

Start your day at the Sydney Bus Museum, exploring our extensive collection of heritage buses from the 1920s to the 2000s as well as our specialist displays.

Then board our vintage double decker bus for a trip through the Inner West and into the Sutherland Shire to the Sydney Tramway Museum at Loftus. There you'll have 2 hours to inspect the impressive collection in the display hall, including the rare Prison Tram, and ride a different form of transport along the Museum's two tram lines, including the bushland cruise that is the Royal National Park line.

Pack a picnic lunch to have in the pleasant surrounds of the Railway Square Waiting Shed before boarding the waiting double decker for a return jaunt back up the Princes Highway to the Bus Museum at Leichhardt, setting down at Sydenham Station upon request.

Bookings are essential.

Admission to both the Sydney Bus Museum and the Sydney Tramway Museum, and unlimited rides are included in your ticket:
