
VOLVO B10M MARK 1 - 7457
Volvo B10M Mark 1 - Custom Coaches 'Euro II' body.
This was the 50th Volvo bus delivered to Westbus, and carried special signwriting advertising the fact. It was completed on September 24th 1984. It was registered m/o 7457. In all, over 160 Volvo B10Ms were operated by Westbus.
It entered service for Westbus shortly after in 1984 from Northmead depot, operating services around the Parramatta and the Hills areas, later being incorporated into the new operation of Hillsbus.
From mid-2008 7457, by now painted in the ComfortDelgro Cabcharge (CDC) canary yellow livery, was allocated to the 'loan' fleet and sent to the following depots: Westbus Penrith, Westbus Girraween, Westbus Bonyrigg, Westbus Seven Hills, Hunter Valley Buses Thornton.
In February 2013 the bus was deregistered, after spending its final months as a school bus in the Hunter Valley. In August 2013, CDC donated the bus to the Museum for preservation.
A small but dedicated band of volunteers commenced restoring the bus, with assistance from Volvo Bus Australia and Custom Coaches. The bus was resprayed into its original Westbus livery and has been signwritten as the 50th Volvo for Westbus as it was when delivered.
The bus made its public debut in May 2015.

Engine: 9.6 litre six-cylinder Volvo THD100EC diesel engine, bore 120.65mm, stroke 140mm, developing 245 h.p. at 2200 r.p.m.
Gearbox: Four speed ZF 4HP500 automatic gearbox.
Brakes: Dual circuit air brakes, a spring applied parking brake and a hydraulic gearbox retarder.
