One significant gap in our collection is a Leyland Royal Tiger Cub. An opportunity has arisen to purchase former m/o937. This is a 1964 Royal Tiger Cub with a Commonwealth Engineering body. 937 was new to St Ives Bus Service at Pymble and was the first heavy duty bus purchased by Arthur Gillot. At that time this was one of the largest buses to operate in the region.

In 1998 the St Ives business was sold and 937 was passed to Forest Coach Lines who sold the bus for preservation. 937 has passed through 2 owners and has recently been restored and has been offered for sale to the Sydney Bus Museum.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a restored vintage bus that fills a gap in our collection. The addition of 937 to our collection will fulfill the museum’s desire to represent a selection of Sydney’s most iconic private bus operators of the past. This bus is a rare survivor of a 1960’s private bus and is in very good condition and expected to join our running fleet immediately.
