MERCEDES-BENZ O400 - 3009

Berrima Coaches fleet number 24, a 1994 Mercedes-Benz O400 with Custom Coaches 238 body. It was originally registered as MO3009 and later renumbered to fleet number 43 with registration 4824MO.

This bus was kindly donated by Buslines to the Sydney Bus Museum in January 2024. The bus was fully restored by Buslines prior to being handed over to the museum.

 

Buslines is the third largest private bus operators in New South Wales. It operates 13 companies across New South Wales: Ballina Buslines, Bathurst Buslines, Berrima Buslines, Dubbo Buslines, Forster Buslines, Griffith Buslines, Lithgow Buslines, Northern Rivers Buslines, Orange Buslines, Tamworth Buslines, Ulladulla Buslines, Wingham Buslines and Rover Coaches.

These O400s have provided many years of faithful service all over NSW with 43 of them in the Buslines fleet alone. The O400 chassis were manufactured in Brazil between 1994 and 2003.

Gearbox: 5-speed ZF 5HP500 automatic

 

Body: Custom Coaches 238 body

 

Brakes: Dual circuit air brakes, a spring applied parking brake and a hydraulic gearbox retarder.
