Australia Day 2025

Despite the usual 30+ degree conditions, our Australia Day services for 2025 were a resounding success!

The Museum had 14 vintage double-decker buses in operation, providing trevelers with a short trip from the Sydney Opera House in Macquarie Street across the Harbour Bridge to North Sydney and return. Exhibits from Sydney, London and Hong Kong performed without fault, with regular water top ups to both the vehicles and the crews throughout the day.

Almost 6,000 people enjoyed a nostalgic ride across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on our vintage double-deckers on Australia Day.

The Sydney Bus Museum would like to thank Destination NSW for engaging us to operate 14 double-deckers. We also acknowledge the ongoing support and sponsorship from Transit Systems NSW for this event.

While it was a long day for our volunteers, we were all happy to be out of the buses and by the dinner table at the end of the day. We look forward to continuing to be a stable part of Sydney's Australia Day celebrations again in 2026!
