Farewell long-time Museum Member, Andrew Chechlacz
Long-time member Andrew Chechlacz passed away on Sunday 10 October.
The Museum was proud to be involved with Andrew's family in organising the funeral, which took place on Monday 1 November.
The hearse came to the museum on its way to Rookwood Cemetery and paused inside the Museum before proceeding to Rookwood. Two Museum buses followed the hearse. Several Museum members were involved in the funeral service, both as pallbearers and reading prayers.
Andrew was a founding member of the Museum and for many years up until his ill-health, worked as our dedicated Operations Manager.
Andrew had a life-long career in transport and always ensured the museum put its best foot forward, whether it be planning and managing major events or our regular open days.
You can watch a video recording of Andrew's service below.
