State Transit Authority Day 2025

Sunday 6th of April, The Sydney Bus Museum proudly hosted its annual State Transit Authority (STA) Day, commemorating over three decades of public transport history in New South Wales. This special event paid tribute to the STA, which operated Sydney's bus services from 1989 until its transition in 2022 .

Visitors were treated to an impressive lineup of heritage buses that once served under the STA banner. One very different bus that was on display is Scania 3786, which was new to STA and retired but has found a new life with the NSW Police. 3768 is now a custody bus that is used at major events around Sydney.

We ran an additional bus ride to Huntleys Point with former State Transit Authority buses, which allowed many of our visitors to take some pictures of these much-loved buses.
